Movie Maddness

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

There are so many cool movies coming out that I want to see and I am getting the fever to go and look for them online and see if anyone has a copy of them already. I know .. you are not supposed to do that .. but it’s so tempting.

Back in the day … when I was a bad kid .. and I used to try and hack the library computer from the house to get assignments done for school. That was then this is now. I am no longer a practicing hacker. Now I’m a pro. I’m kidding, but seriously don’t tell anyone especially my mom. She wouldn’t take it well.

Back to the movies .. I want to see them all and I want to see them all right now so what do I do? There are not enough hours in a day to get them all downloaded anyway so I will have to go sit in a theater with a bunch of smelly strangers and choke down that stale popcorn with that fake nasty butter. OR I could wait a few weeks and see if they are online for the hacking.

Then I would get to eat the stale popcorn that my babe makes with the real butter and I will only have to smell her funky butt while I’m watching a movie in silence with no idiots yelling at every scene. Movies are supposed to be watched for enjoyment not so that you can rate them as they are playing. Thats what we have those two other guys for. Siskel and Egbert or whatever.

Next time I have to go to a movie theater and see a movie with a bunch of knuckleheads I am going to bring a potato launcher. The kind that shoots mashed potatoes. With gravy so it will stick to their $19 BuFu Shirts that they where too cheap to get at the store for one dollar more so they paid $12 extra in shipping instead and got it off line. Whatever. You aint no gangsta and you aint gonna pop a cap in Terminators ass if he was here right now. Grow up and get a job.

So what do you think I should do besides stop ranting?

Finally

The holidays are past and the presents have been put away. Just like an old website the presents are up on the shelf in the closet and the new toys are here for the playing. It is amazing how these kids view toys. Like they are the all giving and the all knowing. Cartoons are even worse. Thankfully the oldest boy will be starting school this year .. way later this year but this year non the less.

When we where kids we where lucky to get three things for Christmas. And two of them where socks and undies. Not that we were under privileged in any way .. just that money was tight during the depression. Heh! We had to walk to school uphill both ways with no shoes in ten feet of show. Backwards. I think when we were kids we just appreciated what we got a little more than our kids do.

I was thinking about getting into another house this year and doing some gardening. Seriously. When we lived in Connecticut we had a nice little garden that we could pick fresh vegetables out of every day. Well when they would grow anyway. And fresh strawberries. I will never forger those. We even grew rhubarb. Those where the days.

As I get a little older I want my kids to appreciate the things that they are given and I think that living like I did when I was a youngin has made me appreciate what I have as an adult. Maybe showing them how I lived as a kid will make them understand how important things can be. Even the littlest and smallest of gifts can be huge and priceless.
