It’s too Early For This

Friday, July 28th, 2006

It’s early in the morning and I couldn’t sleep so here I am blogging. I wanted to write something quick but now my thoughts are bent on coffee and a quick smoke. Maybe half since I’m trying to quite.

I got some good news and some bad news. Which do you want first? Don’t you hate when people say that to you? I do! Why would you have good news and bad news? Can’t you just get rid of the bad news and give me the good stuff?

So the good news is that we are just one step closer to being able to write about things on our blog and get paid for doing so. The bad news is that we have a long ways to go before we are indexed properly and have the ratings that we need to get the big bucks. No Page Rank can be a real bitch sometimes. Also Alexa hates our site so far and they are not giving us the love that we deserve.

Come on .. is Alexa really that important? Yes .. we think that having them monitor our site and see how many people are hitting the site is important to some and not so much to others. What we think is really important is the amount of time that Google and the other big search engines index the site. We are currently getting indexed every time we write a post. We have this thing called Google Alerts that allows us to know when Google has hit the site. Every time we hit Publish on the back end there is an alert in our GMail letting us know if the terms in our posts are being seen and indexed. And they are .. often to!

The coolest thing is knowing when you are getting indexed. If you have links in your posts you know that they are being seen in Google and getting the sites that you link to some juice.

So there you have it … too early for blogging but look at what is about to get indexed.

Hot Summers / Freezing Cold Waters

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

Las Vegas is home to some of the hottest summer days that I have ever seen or been a part of actually. I have lived all over this great nation and I swear that there is no hotter than this. Not even in the muggy day times of Florida is there heat like this. It’s dry, and super duper hot. You can break a sweat just by stepping out your front door. Thats not even cool. Thats HOT!

I am going to invent a suit that keeps you cool no matter how the weather is outside. Or warm if it’s cold outside. Maybe that would be good for campers and hikers to. Shoot that would be a great suit for runners come to think of it. If they are getting too hot during the race the suit will take over and cool them down. And what about those guys up in Alaska that are fishing for the Deadliest Catch? They could wear the suit and if they fell in the water the suit would keep them super warm until they could be rescued and taken out of the water. I know they have those lightweight suits already but they look kind of bulky and hard to get around in. I want to make something easy to wear and light but super powered.

Hmm .. just a thought!

Posts Matter

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

A few days have gone by since we have been able to post anything on here. I want to share with you that we are anxious to start posting for other companies and we are thinking about making a Consumer Section to the site so that anyone can go on there and post whatever they would like. There are so many websites on the net that offer free blogs attached to their site. There has to be a way that we can get those people to post on a centralized blog that will allow everyone to come together as a community and say the things they want to say.

Something like the Digg.com site would be neat but none of us have the skill of the patience to build that I don’t think. Maybe in a year or so we will have the man power to create something magical and get everyone involved in our quest to link the planet.

With every passing day we are better understanding why every post counts. Seeing how we are getting indexed for the thoughts that we write about and the links that we share with everyone. That is a pretty cool thing to see. Even the smaller search engines are starting to find us and the big boys are knocking down our door. Link The Planet is going to be HUGE. We just can’t stop it. With a name like that and the fact that we have all the sites we could afford at the time for Link The Planet, we hope that this is something that is going to make a difference.

We are getting tired of blogging for free so we will be posting like crazy to get the site up to par with the requirements of some of the paid to post sites that are forming. It’s not easy for a blogger to get paid to have their site but since we are not selling anything like clothes or toys on our blogs and we are just writing .. we should be able to sell something on here. Maybe our writing skills?!?!

Soon enough we will be bringing you posts about the things that we love to write about and we will be getting some extra dough for doing so. Isn’t that exciting?

Scuff

Saturday, July 8th, 2006

So let see … Dad is running marathons and making great progress in his “getting fit” adventure. We went to see him run a marathon and it was totally cool. We went from street to street trying to keep up with him as he ran the 25 miles. He finished well and we congratulate him on a great race.

One of the sponsors that gave him some cool T Shirts otw ear in the race was Scuff Design. Scuff is a new company that started out small is becoming an overnight success. They have all kinds of clothing for adults as well as kids. We haven’t seen any of the local skaters running around wearing Scuff gear but I bet once they find out about Scuff they will want to get their hands on some.

They carry a pretty cool like of T’s on their site and you can check them out at ScuffDesign.com. Another pick for our top 5 favs of local businesses in Las Vegas.

Links a Plenty

Friday, July 7th, 2006

We wanted to let you know about a few links that we found so this may be a short post.

  • Zappos
  • Where our good friend Mike is one of the IT guys and rocking the shoe world.

  • Re-SYS Real Estate
  • Where Chelle Belle works keeping tenants happy and owners in check.

  • ErnsWorld
  • Where you can get lost in a blog that is just outstanding.

  • IMDB
  • Where we get all of our hot movie information from.

Those are just some sites that we wanted to share so there they are in all their glory. We like to surf the web and find interesting things to talk about. That said .. Some of the things that you read on here will be interesting and some maybe not so much. BUT you will find new things to read about that have not been written because we are writing it all.

No copy pasting here .. Just original writers blogging about the things that we love. Some of these posts are going to be written by me and some written by other people that are going to use this blog to get things off their chest and let you know about cool stuff. Basically this is a collaboration of writers that are letting you know that they found something interesting and they want you to know about it.

Running Out

Sunday, July 2nd, 2006

We ran out of ideas for this blog already. JUST KIDDING. We have so many blogs to maintain these days that some of them get put on the back burner. One of our better blogs that is not up yet but becoming a big hit around the blogosphere is the main Link The Planet site. That site is amazingly going to be a big hit with the bloggers because we are planning on really hooking it up.

It will be some time before we are able to get that site live because we have so many different ideas that we are working on for directories and what not that we want everything to be perfect when we launch that site. One blog that we have been working on live is the Link The Planet.biz site.

There you may find some useful information about business or the activities of business in the area that we live in. Some of the local businesses in Las Vegas are pretty interesting. Not only do we have the large casinos but we have quite a few small business that are run by families and they are very neat to check out. Some of them are still in belief that having a website for their business is “not necessary” and “it can’t help cause no one will ever see it”! WOW … so we will plug them on that site over and over till they get it.

This way we will never run out of things to talk about in our blogs.
